managed to run 6x(3+1) last night, up from the previous 7x(2+1). Took the HRM with me to check I wasn't over/under-doing it, and allowing me to collect some stats. (Mmmm, stats). It basically says I managed to stay "in the zone" for about 29 minutes. Of course, the zone boundaries are just the usual rule-of-thumb guesstimates from my age, so perhaps not amazingly accurate. But it's a good deal better than I was when I first got the thing, I seem to remember. Although I don't seem to have written down any stats for running with it before. Grrr. Oh, found one. Hmmm. Equivocal.

I'll have filled up my food/exercise log book by around January. I'm not going to do anything excessively nerdy like putting the info on LJ because that would be, well, excessively nerdy, and *far* too uninteresting for everyone but me. I might start putting stuff into a database though-- i used to have a db full of the timings for cycling to work back when I was working in Theale.

That reminds me, I need to get out on the bike again. It's been weeks. I've replaced my cycle computer AGAIN, I keep losing the damn things. (Buying a cheap Halford's own brand is the right decision in retrospect).

putting it in a database is less nerdy than posting it on LJ?

That's like me making spreadsheets calculating my days holiday left in hours and graphing the average spread of holiday taken over the year. Not that I do that of course. Oh no.

Well, but putting it in a database, I'll just bore myself to death, so the magnitude of nerdiness is limited-- if you see what I mean.

I have a spreadsheet for my weight, and every time I add an entry to it (i.e. every week), I seem to spend up to an hour on it fiddling with getting it to automagically convert metric to imperial, compare my progress to the target, draw charts.... now if I could just channel this motivation to something *useful*...

Not sure if I mentioned at Whitby how well you're looking - I could see you'd lost a lot of weight and were looking much more healthy (and pretty happy too). Well done!
