i remember this...

Just watched Wrath Of Khan again for the first time in years. OK, so the pyrotechnics are laughable, and the contiguity dubious in places, but damn it's still cool in places. The guy who plays Khan is monumental, and I don't feel impelled to kill Kirk or anyone. And Saavik is damn fine when she gets into the turbolift in a jogging suit with her hair down 8-) On that note, I'm going to bed. (Still damn hot here though)

*pssst* that'd be Ricardo Montelban (sp?), the same guy that was in Fantasy Island, but don't let that put you off...

Well, I haven't seen Fantasy Island, but he kicks ass in WoK.

I preferred Search for Spock. But then it could be because I fancied him. Mmmm Spock.

Yeah, Kirsty Alley was the best Saavik. Robin thingumabobwhosenameIcan'tremember was okay, but boring.

Whilst Kirstie Alley was the most attractive and yummy Saavik, I think Robin Curtis played a Vulcan how a Vulcan should be played (something even Leonard Nimoy gave up on after Star Trek 3, when it became Carry On Vulcanning).

Star Trek 2 was fantastic, especially when you consider the (relative) disaster of Star Trek : The Motion Picture (then again, even that had its moments, just not that many). However, Star Trek 2 would have been crap without Ricardo Montalban. Likewise, Star Trek 3 would have been pretty crap without Christopher "Back to the Future" Lloyd as the Klingon Commander. You only have to look at Star Trek 5 and Laurence "Not a good actor" Luckinbill to see what happens when you have a dodgy plot (like most of the Star Trek films, let's face it) and no overblown villian to entertain you.

The thing is I have probably overanalysed Star Trek 2, as it's my favourite of the original films, and found several inconsistencies, but it's still a top film - the only one of the 6 that I didn't mind shelling out for on DVD.

It's been so long since I saw 3 I can hardly remember it. But I don't remember liking it enough to buy it. And I've never seen 5, which from what people have said I should be thankful for :|

2 and 6 are the only ones I've got on DVD.
