flood precaution? live on a hill

Flooding in Berkshire. I remember when we moved to Caversham, within a few weeks we had a leaflet about what the council's sandbag policy was... nice... In winter the water came all the way over the park up to the road near us, I remember the swans had taken refuge near the bus stop. Funny at the time, but I suspect it's like that now, in midsummer...

Sue has been eyeing up the OS map of West London trying to decide which bits will go underwater in which order. Because she's cheerful like that. I guess I've got a reason to be glad I live on a hill now, though.
